Weight Loss Procedures

Weight loss surgery, also known as bariatric surgery, is a tool to produce significant weight loss for morbidly obese people. If you have unsuccessfully battled a serious weight problem, Baylor Frisco can help you take control of your health and change your life.

We have devoted the necessary resources to provide you with comprehensive care, including patient education, pre-surgical counseling, advanced surgical options, and long-term post-surgical care.

Please note that all weight loss surgery patients, regardless of the procedure performed should avoid non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDS) like ibuprofen, Advil, Alleve, Motrin, Naproxen, aspirin, etc.  These drugs can cause ulcers and bleeding in the stomach.

Baylor Frisco offers several different kinds of weight loss surgery designed to help patients manage their weight including:

Laparoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy

Laparoscopic Gastric Bypass

Laparoscopic Gastric Banding

Biliopancreatic Diversion with Duodenal Switch (BPD/DS)

Thanks to new robotic technology now available at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Frisco, many patients no longer have to worry about lengthy downtimes after surgery. Our robotic surgical System enables many surgeries to be performed in a less invasive way, typically leading to shorter hospital stays and faster recoveries.
