- Please pre-register for delivery within 24 weeks of due date. Click this link to pre-register.
- Ensure that OB/GYN has privileges at facility and that your health insurance provides coverage. A full list of OB/GYN physicians can be found here.
- Once registered, all pre-pregnancy classes are free. You will receive a code via email once you register. Click here for a full list of classes.
- Choose a pediatrician in advance to be sure they have privileges at this facility. Click here for a full list of pediatricians with privileges. If a patient does not have one or their pediatrician does not have privileges, the on-call pediatrician will be utilized. It is not guaranteed that your insurance will cover this physician.
Waiting Room
- Our newly renovated waiting area is designed for the comfort of family and friends.
- Free Wifi, a charging station, and a nourishment center with coffee and tea is available for all visitors.
- The hospital café is located on the first floor adjacent to the main entrance and is open for visitors from 6:30 am to 10:00 am and 11:00 am to 2:00 pm, Monday to Friday.
- All visitors must check in with the front desk and provide photo identification.
- The waiting area is directly adjacent to the nursery; please note that the nursery blinds are kept closed at all times for patient privacy.
Obstetrical Emergency Department
- Pregnancy can come with unexpected twists, and our Obstetrical Emergency department is here to help.
- Staffed by OB Hospitalists who are here 24 hours a day, they can provide comprehensive care.
- This unit is designed to address urgent pregnancy-related concerns and emergencies.
- Whether it’s a sudden complication, unexpected symptoms, or the need for immediate medical attention, our specialists are here for you and your baby.
- The physicians in the OB ED will coordinate care with your Obstetrician, who will likely not be on site.
Labor and Delivery Room
- The labor and delivery unit is designed with your comfort and safety in mind.
- Eight private birthing suites are equipped to ensure the best care for you and your baby.
- Our nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:1 whenever our census allows it.
- Up to 2 support people can be in the room for a vaginal delivery and one person for a C-section delivery.
- No children except siblings will be allowed and must be attended by an adult.
- Birthing bed can be adjusted to different positions to accommodate preferences during labor.
- Bed for support person, TV, Wi-Fi, and a private bathroom with a shower.
- Suites are equipped with the latest medical technology to ensure a safe and comfortable experience.
- Mobile fetal monitoring devices to track your baby’s heart rate, as well as equipment to assist with pain management and delivery.
- For pain management, anesthesia is in-house and available 24/7, including epidurals, IV pain medication, or a spinal for C-sections.
- Nurses are trained to assist with natural labor and birth.
- Birthing balls and peanut balls are available for positioning.
- Feel free to bring your comfort aids, including music aromatherapy, but please, no candles.
- Once admitted for labor, patients are allowed to drink. They will be permitted to have ice chips, popsicles, and sips of water.
- Attending your delivery will be a physician, 1-2 L&D nurses, a nursery/NICU nurse, and an OB Tech.
- Skin-to-skin contact is initiated immediately after birth as long as both mom and baby are doing well.
- Patients stay in L&D for 2 hours after delivery and then are moved to the post-partum unit.
Postpartum Room
- The postpartum rooms are for rest, recovery, and bonding with your newborn.
- Our experienced nurses will assist with breastfeeding and newborn care and offer support.
- Nursing care is available for both mother and baby, and lactation nurses are available all day, several nights per week.
- All nurses can help with breastfeeding; a breastfeeding class is recommended. Click here to find one.
- Careview cameras are in each room and monitored by nurses.
- The Women’s Center is secured, and infants are equipped with a sensor for safety.
- Dine on Demand is available for patients to order custom meals from 7:00 am – 6:30 pm, including a guest meal for the support person.
- A celebration meal of steak and lobster or a vegetarian celebration curry for two is served before leaving the facility.
- While in postpartum, one adult can stay overnight, but all children must leave by 10:00 pm.
- Undisturbed naptime is from 2:00 – 4:00 pm for rest and recovery. No visitors are allowed during this time.
- We encourage you and your visitors to observe quiet nap time from 2pm – 4pm. Visitors are discouraged during this rest period.
Nursery
- The nursery is a special space where newborns receive expert care.
- Designed to ensure infant well-being, with a focus on health, safety, and early bonding experiences.
- Security measures are in place and access to the nursery is limited. Staff is highly trained to follow rigorous identification procedures, including electronic monitoring and ID bands for parents and infants.
- The nursery is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and amenities to meet the unique needs of newborns including cozy cribs, temperature-controlled environments, and specialized equipment to monitor infant’s vital signs.
- Mothers can choose to utilize the nursery or keep their infant in room.
- Rooming-in promotes early bonding and breastfeeding.
NICU
- Level 2 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
- Designed to provide specialized care for newborns who may require a higher level of support.
- Unit is equipped with advanced medical technology and a team of skilled professionals to ensure the best care.
- Strict security measures to ensure infant’s safety.
- Access is restricted, and staff follows stringent identification protocols.
- Team is committed to family-centered care encouraging parents to participate actively in baby’s care whenever possible.
- Staff is available to support parents emotionally and provide guidance on understanding and participating in baby’s treatment plan.
- Team works closely with parents to ensure a smooth transition home, providing education and resources for caring for baby’s unique needs.
