Pharmacist PRN
The Staff Pharmacist reviews, interprets, and evaluates physician orders for appropriateness against available patient information and current therapy, considering factors such as allergies and potential drug interactions. Dispenses medications according to federal, state regulations, and hospital policies. Provides direct supervision of Pharmacy Technician(s) performing support functions.
Qualifications:
- Have five (5) years of hospital pharmacy experience.
- Have two years of experience in a supervisory capacity.
- The Texas State Board of Pharmacy currently requires pharmacists to be registered to practice pharmacy in the state of Texas.
- Demonstrate competent administrative, leadership, and management, demonstrating knowledge of the development needs of pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
- Must have NICU experience or complete NICU training within 90 days of employment.
- Knowledge of TJC and Medicare standards affecting pharmacy.
- Must possess the ability to prioritize responsibilities and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Possess the ability to deal tactfully with all types of personnel, medical staff, and the public.
- Possess the ability to make independent decisions.
- Must have the ability to act as liaison between personnel and management.
