The Patient Care Tech / Health Unit Clerk works under the general direction of the PSU Team Leader, AVP of Patient Care Services, CNO and Medical staff. The Patient Care Technician assists the nursing staff to ambulate patients under supervision of RN staff after PT evaluation, prepare patients and belongings for discharge home, manage departmental patient care equipment and other duties as assigned and supervised by RN staff. Techs also aid nursing staff to provide support to patients, families, visitors, physicians and vendors. The position involves clerical duties such as entering physician orders, chart compiling, greeting visitors, stocking, organizing and communications with all customers. Assisting staff with keeping work desk area clean and clutter free. Assist recovering lost charges. Computer entry.
