Home / COVID-19

As we navigate the COVID-19 pandemic together, we are continually developing new protocols with your safety and convenience in mind. We have implemented expanded patient and visitor precautions, including visitation and mask policies and screening at entry points.

COVID Vaccine

While Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Frisco will be providing the COVID-19 vaccine to members of the community, it will be in phases determined by the Texas Department of State Health Services, based on guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Baylor Scott and White Medical Center – Frisco is continuing to immunize our healthcare workers, as the health of our team members is critical to our ability to continue delivering safe care in the communities we serve. Immediately after our healthcare workers are vaccinated, we will begin immunizing priority patients and community members.

Baylor Scott and White Medical Center Frisco will provide updates regularly regarding vaccine availability as additional vaccines arrive.  Updates will be posted to the hospital website at www.baylorfrisco.com and can be found by clicking on the red banner located at the top of the webpage.

Please note that the Texas Hospital Association is continuously updating the list of providers who have received the vaccine.  That list can be found HERE.  (updated week 5)  Additionally, Collin County has established a vaccine sign-up page (https://apps2.collincountytx.gov/Forms/VaccineRequest).

COVID Testing

Baylor Frisco is not performing testing unless an individual is scheduled to have a procedure at our facility or a partner facility, please speak to your physician about scheduling.  Testing facilities are available throughout the local area.

Mask Policy

All patients and visitors must wear a mask over their nose and mouth upon arrival to our facility.  Limited exceptions include:

  • Children under the age of two

  • Anyone who has trouble breathing

  • Anyone who is unconscious, incapacitated, or unable to remove the mask without assistance

To protect the safety of our patients and staff, and in accordance with new local regulations surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, Baylor Frisco has an amended visitor policy.  Visitors must be over the age of 16. and the following are allowed:

  • Procedure/Surgical Patients – 1 visitor

  • Labor / post-partum patients – 1 visitor

  • NICU patients – both parents

  • Patients receiving end-of-life care – additional visitors with administrative approval

  • Patients under 18 – both parents

  • Patients with a disability requiring additional assistance – 1 visitor

  • As otherwise determined by our hospital leadership

Elective Surgery

We’re taking extra care so that you don’t need to delay your surgery

We have built a safety plan designed to evaluate each patient’s case independently as we determine the need for certain safety measures, including COVID-19 testing. All patients will be tested for active infection and caregivers will take appropriate measures consistent with CDC guidelines.

Facility Screening

All staff, visitors, or patients entering the facility will be screened including a temperature check.  Those with a temperature at or above 100.0 will not be permitted to enter at this time.

We continue to conduct a short screening for patients and those visitors who meet our visitor exception criteria.  This screening is based on CDC guidelines for identifying respiratory illnesses including coronavirus (COVID-19).:

  • Fever, Cough, Shortness of breath, Sore throat, Weakness, Muscle pain, Diarrhea, Vomiting, Loss of smell
