Women’s Services – Nurse Educator / Quality Analyst / Full-time, Varied

Summary:

The RN Educator/ Quality Analyst works in collaboration with the Women’s Services management team, the Quality department and IS department. The RN will help develop and facilitate education to maternal care staff, physicians and patients. As the educator, the RN will facilitate the orientation of new employees to the unit and assist with competency validation of the staff. The RN will assist the Quality department with reviewing the medical records and collecting data for compliance measures. The RN will assist with special projects and hospital initiatives as assigned by the Director of Women’s or Neonatal Services and Chief Nursing Officer.

Qualifications:

  • Current Board of Texas RN license
  • BSN degree
  • Minimum of 5 years in their area of expertise
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills required
  • Requires minimal supervision and is self-motivated
  • Computer skills with Word, Excel, Power Point
  • Able to manage multiple priorities
  • Will facilitate ongoing education within area of specialty (NICU/NBN or L&D/postpartum)
  • Perinatal educator must be:
    • AWHONN fetal monitor instructor or become one within the first two years as educator.
    • Should have their RNC certification or obtain within the first two years as educator.
  • Will assist with hospital outreach activities as requested by administration
  • Will assist Director of Women’s or Neonatal Services with special projects as assigned.
  • Maintains RN competencies in their area of expertise and can work as a staff RN in times of high census.
  • Develops and schedules drills and simulations for their patient population.
  • Assist Director of Nursing to facilitate staff meetings.
