Operating Room (OR) Surgical Services – Director – FT

The Department Director is responsible for all departmental functions in support of the hospital’s mission, vision, and facility goals.  The Director identifies the cost-effective systems needed to support the business of the department taking into account business trends, resource availability, and changes in customers.  This position establishes effective working relationships with all constituencies, including patients, physicians, employees, volunteers, and vendors.  The Director identifies and remedies through continuous customer satisfaction data and employee involvement.  The Department Director works with Senior Management to meet Facility goals.

Oversees Surgery, Anesthesia, Scheduling, and Sterile Processing services.  Assists as RN Circulator and Scrub Tech as necessary. The Director works with all hospital departments to build an effective team to ensure continuous performance improvement.

• Graduate of an accredited school or professional nursing.
• A baccalaureate degree is required.
• Five (5) years experience in surgery as circulator.
• At least two (2) years experience in surgery management, which includes overseeing all operations in a surgical services department of 20+ staff preferred.
• Current Texas RN License
• BLS is required; CNOR is preferred.
• Independent decision-making skills.
• Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects.
• Excellent communication skills with staff and physicians.
• Ability to lead customer service by example.
